Standard Program
This program is designed to raise the competitive level of its participants through intense specialized training and drilling with the focus on technique and racing skills. All Varsity Rowers who are U19 are eligible to sign up, including athletes from other clubs that do not have summer programs. For novice athletes, the standard for participation is as follows:
This is a great opportunity to improve technique, gain racing experience through intense competition, and foster friendships with rowers from other clubs during the summer.
**While the Pittsford Crew Summer Competitive program is open to rowers from all schools and clubs, it is expected that rowers will return to row for their school/club at the conclusion of the summer.**
- Boys: Average splits of 1:55 or faster over 2000m (7:40 total)
- Girls: Average splits of 2:20 or faster over 1500m
- If this standard cannot be met, an athlete with a coach's letter of recommendation will be considered.

- 7/20-7/21 - RowOntario Championships
- Note that our participation in this regatta is still tentative
- This will be an optional regatta, with participation not required
- As the event is in Canada, participation will require confirmation of proper travel documentation (e.g. passports, etc.)
- An extra fee will be charged to all participants (details announced as we get closer to event).
- 7/28 - 8/4 - Royal Canadian Henley Regatta
- Note that only select boats/athletes will attend this regatta due to the competitive level of the event.
- As the event is in Canada, participation will require confirmation of proper travel documentation (e.g. passports, etc.)
- An extra fee will be charged to all participants (details announced as we get closer to event).
High Performance Program
For those athletes that desire additional training and developmental work, Pittsford Crew will be offering an expanded Summer High Performance (HP) Program. In addition to the 5 weekly morning practices described above, the HP Program will include 3 additional afternoon/evening sessions. Athletes can take advantage of the "2-A-Days" throughout the summer program to receive some additional coaching and get some extra time on the water.

Step 4: USRowing Membership and Waiver
- For insurance purposes, all participants must become members of USRowing, which does require a minimal annual fee. Steps for membership are as follows:

- For returning rowers, follow these steps to renew your waiver:
- Go to https://membership.usrowing.org
- Click on Log In under Individuals and log in using your member number and password
- On your profile page, click the blue button “Sign Agreement & Waiver” and follow the steps on screen
- Done!
Step 5: Health Forms
- Please email your child's most recent doctor's health appraisal
- Email forms to health@pittsfordcrew.org
- All assessments need to have been done in the last 12 months.
Step 6: Swimming Proficiency Test
- All new rowers must complete a swimming proficiency test
- The test may be completed at any swimming facility that you have access to, such as the YMCA or JCC, and signed off by a certified lifeguard.
