Rochester Indoor Rowing Academy (RIRA)


​Dates:  11/18/24 - 1/10/25

Locations:
  • Pittsford Indoor Rowing Center
  • Brickyard CrossFit at the Jewish Community Center
    • please note that athletes will not be participating in crossfit, they will be working with a personal trainer

​Cost:
  • $525 for rowers (and cox’s that choose for full physical training participation)
  • $50 for the focused Cox Program (PIRC days only)

Pittsford Crew is again pleased to offer the Rochester Indoor Rowing Academy (RIRA) this fall/winter!  This 9-week training session is designed to transition the athletes out of the fall, endurance rowing season and ready them for the spring, sprint rowing season.  The 5-days/week program will include a mix of technique work at the PIRC with training/conditioning at Brickyard CrossFit at the Jewish Community Center.  While at Brickyard CrossFit, the team will be focusing on agility, strength work and general conditioning.  RIRA is open to all Pittsford Crew rowers as well as coxswains.

Cox Program – RIRA will include a specific option for cox’s (at a reduced rate).  For cox’s that prefer not to participate in the full training program, the new Cox Program will allow the participants to attend the PIRC sessions every day (working with both the boy and girl rowers) and will covering technique and skills to further develop out valuable cox’s.

Step 2:  USRowing Membership and Waiver
  • Instructions for USRowing Memberships
  • Link to USRowing Website/join (Club code is E9NNK)  
  • For returning rowers, follow these steps to renew your waiver:
    • ​Go to https://membership.usrowing.org
    • Click on Log In under Individuals and log in using your member number and password
    • On your profile page, click the blue button “Sign Agreement & Waiver” and follow the steps on screen
    • Done!
  • For athletes turning 18 this season
    • ​You must complete Safesport Training
    • When using the enrollment key below, the training is free
    • Create your SafeSport account at  https://safesporttrained.org 
    • Use the USRowing enrollment key NGBUSR-RFKt8f
    • Provide your USRowing member number when prompted to ensure your training links to your USRowing Membership

Step 3:  Health Forms
  • Please email your child's most recent doctor's health appraisal (if new or changed since the Fall Season)
  • Email forms to health@pittsfordcrew.org
  • All assessments need to have been done in the last 12 months.

Step 4:  Code of Conduct
  • All participants are required to read and sign the Code of Conduct. Code of Conduct forms should be handed in on your first day of practice or emailed to registrar@pittsfordcrew.org​
